Uriah ben Shemaiah

Uriah ben Shemaiah
(fl. 7th cent BCE)
   Israelite prophet. A contemporary of Jeremiah, he foretold the destruction of Jerusalem and Judah. He was persecuted by Jehoiakim and fled to Egypt. Later he was brought back and put to death (Jeremiah 26:20ff).
